Brett Cook has been an associate at Brennan Sullivan & McKenna since 2008. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as a law clerk for Washington, D.C. attorneys Joseph diGenova and Victoria Toensing while attending law school at the George Washington University School of Law.
Mr. Cook's practice focuses on the defense of persons accused of crimes at the the trial level, as well as the representation of convicted persons on appeal. Mr. Cook practices in both Maryland (in state and federal courts), in Washington, D.C. (in United States District Court) and Virginia (in federal court in the Eastern District of Virginia). In addition, Mr. Cook represents doctors, attorneys, dentists and other professionals in administrative proceedings where they have been accused of professional misconduct.
Mr. Cook was admitted to the Maryland state bar in 2008, and admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Maryland in 2009, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in 2009. In addition, Mr. Cook was admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia in 2009, before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia in 2009, and before the United States District Court for the District of Columbia in 2012.
